Located in the heart of downtown Astoria, the CM/GC, $21.5 million, campus-wide expansion project included 1) construction of Columbia Hall - a new, three-story, 43,000 sf education and science building, 2) improvements to Towler and Patriot Halls - 47,000 sf of remodeling and exterior preservation of two historic wood-framed classroom and administration buildings, and 3) site and accessibility improvements throughout the 2,000-student campus. "Green" and sustainable features included a full solar array atop Towler Hall, provisions for a future wind turbine in the commons area, and over 90% of demolition and construction debris being recycled. Work on the 22-month project was completed in two distinct phases while classes remained in session year round. P&C's commitment to utilize local firms, suppliers, and tradespeople from the community of Astoria contributed to the overall success of our work!
